1962, Bach blanc Here is what Mennessons said about this oil-canvas : “or white music for the painter”. Bach’s rhythm is transposed into luminous white. The strokes of colours interspersed with thin black lines lay emphasis on the cadences of music through three primary colours in pastel pink, blue and pale yellow, merging into a soft poised harmony enhanced by the vigour of dark reds and deep blues. Vigour and grace being the stamp of Bach’s art.
