1980, Cutting in garnet-red

Acrylique sur papier, collage-marqueterie | Collection particulière

On his return from a long trip through the United States, Mennessons, who had absorbed sensations, gorged himself with visits to art-galleries and private collections, after filling pages and pages with sketches, decanted his emotions and created a series of monochrome marquetry-patchworks on paper. Here, movement and monochromy convey an impression of peacefulness.
